Founder's Story
In September 2018, I returned to my hometown of Morency, a beautiful village in southern Haiti. While there, I met Catherine, a nine-year-old girl sitting by the river doing laundry. It was around 10 a.m.
I approached her and said, “Hi, I think today is a school day.” She looked at me and replied, “Yes, it is, but my parents cannot afford to send me to school this year.”
Deeply moved, I immediately contacted the school principal and told him about the girl I had just met. He explained that not only was Catherine unable to attend school, but there were many other students who had also been left behind, even though they were performing well academically.
Touched by this situation, I felt a strong responsibility to act. I decided to do everything I could to help change the lives of these children. Using the little savings I had, I was able to help Catherine and eleven other students return to school.
Today, the Massillon Richemond Foundation has grown into an organization that supports more than 300 hundred children in their educational journey.
This mission continues with one goal in mind: to ensure that no child is left behind due to lack of resources.

How we make An Impact
- EDUCATION ACCESS PROGRAM: Our education program supports high-achieving students from disadvantaged backgrounds by covering schools expenses such as tuition, supplies, books, and uniforms. We serve students from kindergarten through 12th grade and enhance their learning through small groups and academic resources.
- MEAL SUPPORT: Our meal support program thoughtfully designed to provide nutritious meals to students during schools hours, ensuring they stay energized, attentive, and ready to learn throughout the day. By supporting their health and concentration, this initiative plays a vital role in helping students reach their full academic potential.
- YOUTH CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT: This program is designed to empower students with a deep understanding of their identity, values, and purpose. This initiative places character at the heart of personal growth, helping young minds define who they are beyond achievements or external success. Rooted in strong moral and spirituals principles, the program nurtures virtues such as compassion, trustworthiness, respect, responsibility, fairness, and care for others.
- FLORIDA CLASSROOM SUPPORT: As part of our continued growth, we recently launched the Classroom Support Program to provide teachers with essential resources such as books, supplies, and classroom materials. This initiative helps create stronger learning environments where students can succeed and teachers feel supported in their mission to educate and inspire.
